A special welcome to all visitors of Open House Basel who don’t speak german!
We gathered a group of highly motivated volunteers, who will offer a bunch of english tours in the most interesting buildings of the actual program. But first some general information.
ABOUT OPEN HOUSE BASEL
Every Year in May Basel is opening the doors of outstanding buildings to conquer the architecture territory of our beautiful city for all interested visitors free of charge. Everyone is warmly invited to stroll through the town, to dip in sophisticated private houses, discover historical heritage and modern artefacts or to step behind the scenery of hotels, schools, studios and many more unique locations.
High quality architecture has a long tradition in Basel and is brought to perfection by worldwide known architecture studios working in Basel. Open House Basel serves to offer insight into the meaning of architecture, urban development and historical legacy. The understanding of this context will come to a lively interaction through guided tours given by specialists and passionate guides, always open to share a talk.
ENGLISH TOURS
You can get an overview of all english tours in our time schedule. Move the cursor over the colored bar, to get a first information. To get all information of a certain tour check the building details. Some tours are only available with reservations. Register yourself to receive an email a few days before the reservations are activated.
MULTILINGUAL TOURS ON DEMAND
In our Open House Multilingual Team there are great Volunteers, many of them architects, who offer to give building tours in the following languages: English, Italian, Russian, Spanish, French, Greek and Chinese.
